The Godley High School FCCLA Chapter team won 1st Place in the State STAR Event Parliamentary Procedure Senior Division competition held in Galveston April 3-5, 2008. They beat 24 teams from Class 1A - Class 5A schools, and qualified as the only school to represent the State of Texas at FCCLA Nationals in July in Orlando, Florida in this event.
In July, Angie Paniagua, Kate Garvin, Mallory Giles, Christina McKinney, Danielle Cheek, Brittney Dillard and Sarah Dillard, and their sponsor Sheryl Winn, traveled to Orlando where they competed against teams from all over the United States. They won a silver medal, and represented their school and community proudly.
This is the first group from Goldley to ever compete at Nationals.
