Spelling
For Pre-Kindergarten 3-4 we sing the alphabet and go over letters, either by flash cards or by looking at the alphabet on a sheet of paper. We sing a song for the letter of the week and practice writing that letter on the white boards. We also look at animals whose name starts with the letter from a couple of dictionaries that have pets, extreme and endangered animals. We will also sing some cute and funny songs, such as "The Bear Went Over the Mountain," or "Hippity, Hoppity Hokey Pokey."
For Kindergarten we are singing the frog street songs, a letter and number a week. We say words on the Sight Word Chart, sung to the tunes of familiar songs. We will start with these words to the tune of Mary Had A Little Lamb. I've also been working on some Power Point presentations that show each word on the TV screen while they are singing.
