Welcome Back to School!

Godley ISD and all campuses are proud to have earned Recognized status with the state accountability system and met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) with the federal accountability system for the 2010-2011 school year.

As District Testing Coordinator, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge & Skills (TAKS) is always on my mind.   I will be happy to discuss the TAKS test and assist you in accessing the Texas Education Agency (TEA) website to view a copy of the test at your student's grade level. There are many valuable resources for parents and teachers on the TEA website.

The Commissioner of Education, Robert Scott, recently announced that the next generation of state assessments will be called the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR).  The STAAR will replace TAKS in grades 3-8 and will encompass the 12 End-of-Course assessments at the high school level.  The new tests will be significantly more rigorous than previous tests and will measure a child's performance, as well as academic growth.
