Publishing a New Magazine

You will design a news magazine on Europe's transition to the modern world that answers the question, "How did innovation and reform during the Renaissance, Reformation, and Age of Exploration change life in Europe?"

  1. You will work in groups of four to create a news magazine that features at least three of these topics:religion, art and architecture, science and technology, business, education, exploration, and urban life.
  2. In addition, your news magazine will contain an introductory letter from the editor, a table of contents with a timeline of key events, profiles on the top three news makers, and a concluding article on the lasting impact of this period in history.
  3. The news magazine must incorporate a variety of publishing devices such as stories with headlines, maps pictures with captions, graphs, illustrations and diagrams.
  4. You will use materials accumulated throughout the unit-original writings, visuals, historical notes and resources collected through additional research.

Your Poem must address the question-"How did life in Europe change after the fall of the Roman Empire?"

This is a list of web sites I found.  You may search for your own web sites and I encourage you to do so.  Remember this is due on Tuesday, September 11, 2007.  Don't wait until the last minute to do this project or to print things off.  If it is late for any reason 20 points per day will be deducted.  If you are going to save things to disk and bring them to school to print, make sure you save in MS Word.  The school computers do not have Works on them and you won't be able to open your files.
