Dear Parents:

Spanish can be one of your student's easiest classes in high school, with a little help from you.  I require each student to have a binder that will contain daily agendas for your review, along with classwork done, notes taken, and our current vocabulary lists.  Learning and memorizing vocabulary is THE ONLY WAY to achieve excellence in a foreign language.  Hopefully your student will need little outside time to memorize words, but it may occasionally be necessary.  Even if a parent does not know Spanish themselves, they can still make sure their child is successful.

You can help your child by:

1.  Checking their agendas on at least a weekly basis.

2.  Checking their notes and asking them about the concept they are learning.

3.  Using the vocabulary lists provided to quiz your child on their chapter vocabulary.

4.  Providing a clearly defined place and time for schoolwork and study.  Enforce ten minutes of homework and vocabulary practice each night.

5.  E-mailing me at the first sign of trouble or with any concerns.

Thanks so much!
