Monday:
We will review the pronunciation of our new vocabulary and takes notes on a new irregular verb: tener. We will practice how to conugate the verb and ways to use it. We will close class by working on vocabulary with partners.
Tuesday:
The student will practice vocabulary with their partner. We will continue examining the verb tener and learn more of it’s uses. I will show a video that will prmpt response from the students on the expression “tener que.” We will practice how to use tener to talk about our ages, and ask each other to practice. Then we will talk about the family tree on p. 170 and how family relationships work.
Wednesday.
The students will begin class with a worksheet on using the expression tener que. After reviewing the worksheet, we will translate the paragraphs on p. 171 as a class, and do the exercises on page 172 and 173. Homework will be to create a dictionary of items 1-15 in our vocabulary. For example:
Hermana: la hija de mi madre.
Thursday:
The students will practice vocabulary via a game. They will begin using vocabulary associated with the home. They will translate the information on pages 174 and 175. We will do exercises pages 176 and 177. Homework will be workbook pages 57 and 58.
Friday:
The students will practice vocabulary. They will review tener and we will do the exercises on page 178 and 179. We will finish class by starting a mini-project, due Monday. I will give each student a copy of a sample floor plan of a house. They are to label is with as much vocabulary as they can, and may draw in extra items to label. On the back, they will write ten grammatically correct sentences describing the house and/or the family that lives there..
