POLICIES  &  PROCEDURES

Entering Class:  Enter with ALL necessary materials (supplies, homework, etc).  Sharpen pencils, get out homework, and be ready to start class when the bell rings. 

Seating:  You will have an assigned seat by which attendance will be taken.   

Supplies:  Binder with dividers, pencils and red pen.

If you need to go to your locker to get something, a tardy will be assigned.

Tardy Policy: 

        1st = Verbal warning                                            3rd Tardy = Discipline Referral

        2nd= Warning &                                             Each tardy after the 3rd will result in a

                   a parent contact                                                   discipline referral                                

Announcements:  Are made daily during 2nd period.  During announcements, STOP whatever you are doing and listen quietly.  Every announcement is important! 

Sharpening Pencils:  Pencils should be sharpened at the beginning of class.  Do NOT sharpen pencils while teacher is talking.  One student at a time at the pencil sharpener.  Sharpen only YOUR pencils.

Asking Questions/Getting Help:  There will be times when you need help.  Please ASK questions!  Remember there is only one of me and many of you in class.  Tutorials start after the 1st progress report. If you need assistance before that time see me.

Class Participation:  You will be expected to participate in class by answering questions, following directions, and working on your assignments as they are given.

Heading:  First & last name are required on all papers to receive credit. No name papers will be thrown away.

Completed Work:  Completed work will be collected in class.  Late and absent work should be put in the tray on the corner of my desk.  Work without a name will be thrown away.           

Make-up/Missed Work:  Illnesses and emergencies do occur, but school continues.  Math is easy to fall behind in. Absent work will be posted on the bulletin board at the front of the room and work and notes can be found on my website.  For each class missed, you will have one day to catch up.  Please ask if work is not on bulletin board.

Grading:  Test grades = 50% of overall six-week grade (2 per 6 wks.)

       Daily grades = 50% of overall six-week grade (10+ per 6 wks.)

Restrooms/Nurse:  There is a 5 minute passing period between classes for restroom breaks.  If you need to use the restroom during class a tardy will be given.

Dismissal:  I will dismiss class.  The bell or announcements does not dismiss you.

RULES & CONSEQUENCES

Class Rules:    

1.  Be on time and prepared.

2.  Follow directions the first time they are given.

3.  Respect others and their property.

4.  Do your BEST!

5.  Obey all school rules.

Consequences:   You will be given a verbal warning and asked to solve the problem.  If you do not take care of the situation, then your parent/guardian will be contacted.  As each student is different and each situation is different, I will deal with each problem based on the circumstances and the individual(s) involved. 

• When a severe offense occurs, the student will be sent to the office immediately.
• If you are kept after class for behavior or tardies, a pass will not be given.
