Syllabus
General Course description
Students will write in a variety of forms for a variety of audiences and purposes. Students will become analytical consumers of media and technology to enhance their communication skills. Students will research self-selected topics, write journalistic texts, and learn the principals of publishing. Publishing the Godley Yearbook is a big portion of the class and must be planned and produced in a professional manner.

Students will need notebook, black pens, and red pens or pencils used for marking copy.
Grading Procedures
>40% of grade- minor daily assignments.
>60% of grade-major test, projects, etc.
In- Class Expectations
You must be self-motivated. The yearbook is a record/ history of the 2007/2008 school year. It must be completed with style and class. When you are selling ads and/or representing our school you will be expected to conduct yourself in a professional and respectful manner. If you do not, you will not be allowed to participate in the selling of yearbook ads. You will be expected to participate in at least one U.I.L. event.
