The Godley High School Chapter of the Family,Career and Community Leaders of America meets monthly after school in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department.
Officers of FCCLA from last year will had an executive board meeting the first week in September.

A meeting for prospective new members was held on September 9. Information on projects, fund raisers and STAR events was presented.
Dues this year will be $20 per member for Local ($4), State($7) and National ($9) affiliation. Dues must be paid by October 27, 2008.
The first regular meeting will be the week of September 22.
FCCLA members will be selling Carousel Pops outside of school this year. Please help support our activities by purchasing several delicious lollipops.

Thanksgiving Dinner for Shut-ins November
Last year we prepared dinner consisting of turkey, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, green beans, rolls, and pumpkin pie. We delivered 24 meals to shut-ins in Godley and the surrounding area. We visited with each person and wished them a happy holiday. We then had our own Thanksgiving dinner as a group. Everyone agreed that visiting with these people is such a great thing to do, and brings a warmth in the heart as the holiday season began.

Region II Meeting
We will attend the Region II FCCLA meeting in San Angelo. We are again competing in Parliamentary Procedure and Sarah is again competing in Job Interview. Go FCCLA!!!!
The 2007 Parliamentary Procedure team consisting of Amber, Lacy, Taylor, Natalie, Karen, Amy, Shawna and Christina placed Second at regional's and qualified for State Finals!
Sarah competed in Senior Job Interview. She placed third and qualified for State Finals! First and Second Place were won by students from 5-A High Schools.
Angie and Brittney will compete in the LEO Examinations for Job Interview.
We were recognized at the General Meeting for increase in membership of at least 20% over last year and for the Stop the Violence Activities in the High School.

State FCCLA Convention and Star Events Competition will be held on April 16-18 in Corpus Christi
(Last year we attended the State Convention in Galveston)
We will have a Business Meeting to plan our End of School Party.
