Food Science and Technology
(Offered only Second Semester)
Course Description: This course concentrates on nutrition, food choices, and food science skills throughout the life cycle. Instruction addresses nutrition and food science from the perspective of food habits and wellness; special dietary needs;technology implications; and food handling, storage, and preparation practices, including hands-on practice in a foods laboratory environment. Analyzing food in a scientific manner, career options, and techniques for managing multiple family, community, and career roles are part of the content.
