Good books I have read about dealing with children at home are listed below. Three of my favorite authors have a website with their books listed and other products. The website is
Love and Logic Instutite .
"Parenting with Love and Logic" by Foster Cline, M.D. and Jim Fay
"Teaching with Love and Logic" by Jim Fay and David Funk
"The Pearls of Love and Logic for Parents and Teachers" by Foster Cline, M.D. and Jim Fay
"Love and Logic Magic When Kids Leave You Speechless" by Jim Fay and Charles Fay, Ph.D.
Another book, not from the Love and Logic Institute, is
"Parent Talk" by Chick Moorman
A good book to look at with children in trying to deal with grief is:
"Tear Soup" by Pat Schwiebert and Chuck DeKlyen
If you would like more information and other links on dealing with grief, I have provided a link to Grief Watch.
I have started working with the kids to prepare for the anxiety they might have getting ready for tests. I have thoroughly enjoyed the books I have gotten off of this website:
Edu-K is short for Educational Kinesiology. It is an approach that uses movement as a means to enhance learning. The basic movements are called Brain Gym. It is easy for the kids to do and it actually helps in different situations. I show the kids how to do some of these movements and suggest trying them if nothing else seems to work. I haven't read all of their books. The ones I have read are exceptional and their ideas are too exciting not to try!
