Vocabulary: Explorers, excavate, artifact, archeologist, bible, flag, ore
tobacco, cash crop, maps, sonar, astrolabe
Icons: Draw pictures to show what the definition means
Tuesday: Finish Icons
Cut and glue artifact ship on manilla paper
Wednesday: Find pictures of artifacts in the sunken ship
Draw the artifact in the space provided
Write the importance of this artifact on the sunken ship activity
Thursday: Study sheet for quiz
Friday: Artifact quiz
December 3 - 7 HISTORY ALIVE!
EXPLORER PROJECT
Monday: Assign an explorer to each group
Tuesday: Each group will find all information about their explorer
Wednesday: Color all pictures, Draw routes of exploration, fill in timeline and labels
Thursday: Glue all pictures, category labels (sponsor, motives, route, imact and timeline)
Friday: Write all your information about your explorer on your chart

Jamestown/Plymouth
Monday: Jamestown and Pilgrim video
Tuesday: Jamestown questions and fill in the blank worksheet
*The students will write a true story based on the information on the worksheet
*The story will have a beginning, middle and end and be a half page summarization
of the events at Jamestown
Wednesday: Pilgrim fill in the blank based on what they read on the settlement of Plymouth
* The students will fill in answers to the prewritten story and write a main
idea in 10 words or less about the settlement of Plymouth story
Thursday: Senses activity
* The students will write a statement to describe something the figure saw
heard, touched, ate, smelled and felt (emotions).
Example: I ate ........nothing during the starving time at Jamestown
Friday: Grade papers and discuss answers/Free Time
