Rules and Procedures
Dear Parents:
Welcome back to another exciting year at Godley Middle School! I am looking forward to another great year!
Procedures for Teaching and Class Work Time
Textbooks
Textbooks will be checked out according to the individual need of the student. We are going to keep a classroom set of books to use during the year. If a parent or guardian would prefer their son or daughter to check out a textbook one will be issued, this can be done anytime throughout the year. Also if the student needs a textbook to finish or correct an assignment he/she may check out a text book. A copy of the text book is available to the students at http://www.my.hrw.com Each student will be given a user name and password to log on to the web site.
Cheating
If a student(s) is caught cheating, all students involved will receive no credit (zero) for the assignment, quiz or test, and a parent or guardian will be contacted. This students involved will not be able to make up or correct the assignment, test or quiz that was cheated on.
Absence
If a student is absent, it is the student’s responsibility to get the notes, assignment and bell work missed while absent. The notes, assignment and bell work will be on posted the assignment board. Notes, worksheets, tutorials and the book are available online at http://www.my.hrw.com ,so if a student is absent or forgets to take unfinished work home you may be able to see what assignment we did that particular day and print the assignment off of the internet. Bell work will be posted on the assignment link via my web site.
Tutorials
Tutorials are available during TAKS/Tutorial/Activity period in math on Wednesday and Thursday. Tutorials will also be held on Tuesday Morning and Thursday after school. The tutorials will be adjusted if needed.
Corrections
Students will be allowed to correct an assignment for that current six weeks up until the tuesday or wednesday before the end of the six weeks grading period. I will post a last day for corrections to be accepted. The new grade on the corrected assignment will be the average on the old assignment and the corrected assignment.
Note Books (3 ring binders)
Students will be expected to keep an organized notebook throughout the year. This note book will count as one test grade per six weeks. We will also clean the notebook out at the beginning of every six weeks. They will receive a new assignment sheet every six weeks and should keep all tests and quizzes until told to do otherwise.
Bell Work Quiz
A bell work quiz will be given every six weeks to ensure that students are participating in the warm up activity. The bell work should be copied down on notebook paper and placed in the bell work section of the binder at the beginning of class. After the student has had a chance to answer the question, the answer is gone over with explanation.
Projects
If we have any kind of project, I will send a rubric and information home with the students for the parents to review, sign and send back.
Citizenship Grades (same as Handbook)
Points will be deducted as follows:
